Camper Life
The Shakedown Tour
Everyone must take a shakedown tour. This is about my experience. Overall it went well and the park was nice, set among the mountains.
I Broke Up With My Black Tank
Step-by-step how I changed out my original toilet for a composting toilet.
First Excursions Planned
I didn’t think it would happen. Planning take time and always need to be on top of it, but after spending some time in front of the computer I have 3 camping stops booked.
The Essentials
Understanding the basic essential you must have when you get your first camper is somewhat difficult. Sifting through the blogs. This hopefully will help those looking for the first time. This isn’t an exhaustive list, but should get you started.
Sh#t Got Real
I was hoping for a later delivery, but that wasn’t to be. It arrived my 2024 Tab 400 by nuCamp. Now the fun adventures begin, or when winters over.
To Video or Not?
Trying to answer the question whether I should video blog or keep with the written word. Most of the blogs I’ve discovered are in video format and in truth I am thankful they have been invaluable. But I don’t think I’ll be one of those chasing the subscribers. I like writing as a way to share myself.
Planning Your Trip
Planning your trip can be time consuming. There are lots of apps to help you and so I gathered a few here that I’ve come across to help with this. The big advice I find is plan a head, it will help you find the place you want to stay.
My Ever Changing Journey
Due to life’s bumps, I’ve had to change my plans around purchasing an RV. I don’t see working full-time in the near future so I’ve been looking at a different RV, the nuCamp Tab 400. It was on my initial list, and with my further research, It’s now on top of my choice list.
To Compost Toilet or Not?
The worst thing about owning a camper is having the deal with the black tank. When my journey began it was one of the things I was going to change, I would get a compost toilet. I don’t like the idea of sleeping right above a tank filled with sewage…just saying.
What About Internet?
If you are planning to work remotely from the road, the internet is a must; ok even if you don’t want to work from the road, maybe watching Netflix while it’s raining outside is something you’ll want to do, then having the internet is a must. I’m not talking about using your phone as a hotspot, that works for sure to check email, but there is a difference in cell service for your phone vs. an internet hotspot.
The Benefits of a Fiberglass RV
There are two ways RVs are made. Fiberglass shell or stick and tin, oh I guess there is some combination of the two. In all my research the RVs with the fiberglass shell are the best due to keeping out water and value longevity. In this post I talk about they fiberglass is superior to stick and tin made RVs.
Choosing Your RV Options
This can be the most daunting task to do; I can see why going to an RV lot and just picking one out could be seen to be easier, but being able to customize your RV is a luxury, one not to take lightly. Once you sign that build sheet no changes can be made. It’s what Escape Trailers is known for the most customizable trailers in the industry.
The Hunt for the Perfect Camper
When you make the decision to purchase an RV I suspect most people go to their nearest RV dealer and see what’s available. It definitely is a bigger decision than that. There are so many choices out there what is right for you? I spent months looking around, educating myself without even going to an RV dealership; I don’t want to regret my decision.
